Police foil attack, arrest 8 armed bandits in Zamfara

The Zamfara state Police Command has announced the arrest of eight armed bandits as they stormed an operational Gurbin Bore weekly market with the intention to kill and loot.
This was made public by the Command’s spokesman, SP Muhammad Shehu. He said that the bandits who have already abducted one Jafar Yusuf, have lost their luck to a Police tactical team assigned by the Command.
“The Command tactical teams swiftly arrived the scene, cordoned it off and rescued the victim who was already injured. Simultaneously, Eight 8 Bandits were arrested, with 2 locally fabricated guns and 2 Jack knives recovered”, SP Muhammad has stated.
The PPRO further said, all the suspects are currently under Police custody and are positively giving colour to an ongoing investigation after which they will be charged to court for proper prosecution.
He however called on the general public, to for the sake of providing adequate security in the state, continue to report any strange face and action to the Police and other sister agencies especially through phone numbers belonging to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson.
