Police investigates death of girl after sleeping with a man in Yobe

The Yobe state police command is now investigating the cause of the death of an 18 year old girl who was found dead after sleeping with a man in a hotel in Damaturu, the state capital.
Associates of the girl who revealed the incident to Peoples Daily, on condition of anonymity, stated that they saw a foaming substance at the corners of the girl’s mouth, thus alleging that she may have been poisoned or excessively abused sexually.
When contacted by Peoples Daily through a WhatsApp message, the Police Public Relation Officer of the command, Dungud Abdulkarim confirmed the incident stating that it was, “a case of suspected homicide against one Dr Albash who reported that a girl who was brought to him by friends at 2000hrs on 06/01/2021 to spent the night with him at a government lodge in Damaturu, collapsed and died after brief illness,” adding that the matter is under investigation by the police command.
However, as at the time of filling-in this report, four suspects, including the prime suspect, Dr Albash, has been arrested and charged over suspected homicide and the PPRO has assured that the charges would come out clearly after an autopsy has been carried out on the body of the deceased girl.
Meanwhile the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the state specialist hospital in Damaturu, the state capital, while the arrested suspects are being kept at the Police ‘B’ Division in the state capital.
