Police, Jos North Council louds WANEP for donating facemasks to contain Coronavirus in Plateau

The Jos North Local Government Council and Plateau State Police Command have lauded the West African Network for Peace (WANEP) for donating dozens of pairs of facemasks to help mitigate spread of Coronavirus in the state.
The WANEP supported by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) handed over the items to the Management Committee Chairman of the Jos North Area Council and the Plateau State Commissioner of Police at the Council Secretariat and Police Headquarters Jos respectively.
The USIP Coordinator, Reverend Goro Samuel, who presented the items to the Management Committee Chairman on behalf of the institution, said “It gives me a high sense of fulfillment to present these items to you for the benefit of your people. We deemed it fit to produce and handover these items to you as it have become imperative for all of us to use it today for our safety”.
Rev. Samuel said the WANEP and the USIP would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders in the continuing battle against the novel covid-19 pandemic.
The Management Chairman Hon. Shehu Bala, represented by the secretary to the Council Hon. Solomon Danshetu appreciated them for the gesture and expressed readiness to continue to partner with them for humanity sake.
The USIP officials were also at the Plateau state police headquarters to handover the protective facility to the state Commissioner of Police.
Receiving, CP Edward Egbuka ably represented by DCP Wareb Owotorufa said “We appreciate you for identifying us as front line workers that need protection. Your mark and records here speak for themselves. We thank you immensely and pray that God’ll reward you profusely”.
