In a swift and coordinated response to a distress call, operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have neutralised two suspected armed robbers, arrested two others, and recovered stolen valuables following an early morning robbery at Gashash Estate, Barnawa, Kaduna.
A statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan said that the incident occurred at about 3:10 am on Tuesday, when eight armed hoodlums stormed the estate, robbing residents of phones, laptops, wristwatches, gaming consoles, and assorted jewelries.
According to him, upon receiving the call, the Divisional Police Officer of Barnawa Division swiftly mobilised patrol teams with support from the Kakuri and Sabon Tasha divisions, as well as a detachment of military personnel from the 312 Artillery Regiment, Kalapanzi.
“The security operatives tracked the fleeing suspects to Makera Main Road in Kakuri, where a fierce gun duel ensued;
two of the assailants were gunned down during the exchange, while two others were apprehended”.
