Police nab notorious robbery, kidnap syndicates in Kano

The Kano State Police Command said it has successfully descended on notorious robbery and kidnap syndicates, and other hoodlums, terrorizing innocent and peace-loving citizens of the state.
Parading the suspects at a press conference in the command, yesterday, the Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Musa Majiya, said the armed robbery syndicate was responsible for frequent attacks on the residents of Kurna, Bachirawa, Tudun Bojuwa, and Tudun Fulani, led by one Auwalu Isa , alias Lulu who was just released from prison custody.
According to him, the suspects also carried out armed robbery attack on a newly wedded couple with dangerous weapons, where they dispossessed them of cash, phones, textile materials and other valuables, adding that the hoodlums also attacked a neighborhood resident and stole away his Lifan motorcycle.
He said the suspects had confessed to committing the crime, while exhibits of 2 trousers, 1 Jumper, 2 wax materials, 6 different cutlasses, with which they injured their victim were found in their possession.
He added that, the victim was admitted in a hospital and responding to treatment, while investigation was in progress.
Meanwhile, Majiya also said that the Police had successfully burst a syndicate of thugs, popularly known as “ya’n daba”, who attacked innocent residents of Sheka Gidan Kaji and Yarkasuwa with dangerous weapons.
He added that the thugs inflicted grievous injuries on three victims and damaged 14 vehicles, in addition to carting away valuable properties worth millions of naira.
He disclosed that dangerous weapons were found in their possession which they used in attacking the Police to evade arrest, stressing that they were professionally managed and arrested.
Majiya also revealed that the Police had descended and arrested a notorious kidnap syndicate led by one Jabir Usman Sule and Bashir Aminu of Chiranchi quarters, for criminally conspiring and abducting a 4-year old kid at Dorayi quarters, Kano and dropped a note demanding for N2 million ransom.
