Police promote 2 AIGs, 7 commissioners, 203 others

Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar and the Police Service Commission (PSC), headed by retired IGP Mike OkiroThe Police Service Commission (PSC) yesterday announced the promotion of 212 senior officers, including two Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police (AIGs) and seven Commissioners of Police.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations in the commission, Mr. Ferdinand Ekpe, in Abuja.

The commission, however, announced the dismissal of four others.
The two AIGs were Chris Olakpe and Grace Okudo, while the Commissioners of Police were Victor Ojo, Elias Wayemeru, Paul Okafor, Henry Fadairo, Stella Udosen, Felicia Noelle and Ovie Oyokomino.
It stated that 12 Assistant Commissioners were promoted to Deputy Commissioners, 21 Chief Superintendents to Assistant Commissioners and 27 Superintendents to Chief Superintendents of Police.
Also promoted were 15 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendents, 129 Assistant Superintendents to Deputy Superintendents and 20 inspectors, who were omitted during the last promotion, were promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Police.

It stated that the promotion of Assistant Superintendents of Police to Chief Superintendent of Police were with effect from Feb.19, while others took effect on June 9.
The statement stated that the dismissed officers were: Superintendents of Police, Nyong Enefio and Offu Ukereke, Deputy Superintendent Eteng Bassey and Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Kashim.
It stated that an ASP was compulsorily retired for misconduct; six officers were reduced in rank and 10 others reprimanded. (NAN)
