Zamfara State Police Command has succeeded in securing the unconditional release of ten kidnapped victims who were abducted by a group of kidnappers that invaded Kaya village under Maradun local government area of the state early hours of Tuesday (yesterday).
According to the statement by the Command’s Spokesman, SP Shehu Muhammad and made available to Journalists in Gusau Zamfara State capital, the rescue mission was successful in collaboration with the State Peace and Reconciliation Committee.
The statement informed that, the victims including seven women and three men were abducted and taken to Sububu forest by their abductors but later released with the ongoing peace process enunciated by Governor Mohammed Bello Matawalle.
“All the rescued kidnapped victims have been debriefed by the Police and subsequently handed them over to the Sole Administrator of Maradun local government hale and hearty as they were expected to reunite with their beloved families later today Tuesday”, the statement added.
Investigation regarding the abduction of the victims has commenced and the outcome will be made public as measures were put in place with a view to ensure total stoppage for reoccurrence of the incident, while calling on the general public not to hesitate to communicate to the nearest security formation, any strange movement for prompt action.
It further encouraged the general public that, a number of personnel under Operation Puff Adder (II) have been on the ground and had since embarked on aggressive patrols including bush combings, farm patrols and other strategically movements aimed to deny any space for criminals to breathe.
