Police Service Commission Names  8 New DIGs

 

The Police Service Commission has named the eight Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) elavated the rank of Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) and members of the police management team.

They include Zachariah Fera Achinyan, hitherto the AIG Zone 4, Makurdi, Zango Ibrahim Baba, formerly AIG Department of Logistics and Supply, Isyaku Mohammed, the AIG Armament, Force Headquarters, Abuja, and  Margaret Agebe Ochalla, AIG FCID Annex, Lagos.

The remaining news DIGs are Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, who was the AIG Police Accounts and Budget, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, AIG Zone 15, Maiduguri, and Umar Shehu Nadada, AIG Zone 14, Katsina.

AIG Fayoade Adegoke was the first to be promoted to the substantive rank of DIG.

According to the commission, the promotion was to fill the vacancies created by the retirement of eight DIGs who previously occupied these strategic offices.

While congratulating the new DIGs, the Chairman of the PSC, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (Rtd), charged them to live up to the expectations of their new offices, prioritize national security and foster cordial and productive working relationship with the commission.
