Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in Benue State, Hon. Herman Hembe has distanced himself from an endorsement of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship candidate Titus Uba.
It should be noted that on Monday 13th March, 2023, 94 support groups of the Labor Party endorsed Uba at Government House, Makurdi, explaining that their action was born out of the need to reciprocate Governor Samuel Ortom who sacrificed his Senatorial ambition for the party during the Presidential/Senatorial which he lost.
They appreciated him for standing in defence of the State against external aggressors.
But in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Tuesday, Hon. Hembe said unequivocally that he would not have any ties with the PDP, maintaining that the purported adoption is a ‘sham’.
He noted that the group are people who do not have electoral value and are looking for stipends from the government, stressing that he is not deterred by the action but is campaigning hard to win the Governorship election slated for Saturday 18th March,2023.
