Pregnant woman, 2 children, 3 others killed in Jigawa flood -Agency

No fewer than, six people including pregnant women and children were confirmed died as result of heavy downpour in some parts of Jigawa State.
The incident that happened as result of continued heavy rainfall caused serious damages in many communities including some parts of Kiri – Kasamma, Guri,Birnin Kudu, Dutse among others.
This was confirmed by the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Sani Yusuf , said that among the deceased persons are a pregnant woman named Halima Manu and two of her children, four year- old Aisha Manu and a two year- old Dauda Manu were killed after the mud room collapsed on them.
He explained that a couple in Madaci village of Kirikasamma local government were also killed, while in Auno village area of Kafin Hausa local government another couple was affected although the husband is responding to treatment while the bride died.
While visiting the affected areas yesterday, the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Umar Namadi condoled the families of the deceased and sympatized with affected communities.
He also appealed to the federal government and other international organisations to support the victims adding that, the state government will do all its best to relief them.
Some of the communities visited by the deputy governor include Waza, Sundumina, Rijiya uku in Birnin Kudu, Dutse and Guri local government.
