The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, PI-CNG has promised to work with Benue Investment Property Company, BIPC to secure 500 CNG powered tricycles popularly known as ‘keke’ and buses for the state.
Representatives of the initiative, Suleiman Olawole, Lara Obileye and David Idokwo, disclosed this in Makurdi on Wednesday after a meeting with the Group Managing Director, BIPC Dr. Raymond Asemakaha at the company’s Corporate Headquarters.
They said the initiative aims to support Benue State transit to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources for transportation.
“Our Primary goal is to provide a cost-effective and reliable compressed Natural Gas refueling solution”, they said.
BIPC MD Dr. Raymond Asemakaha said the company is to enter into a strategic partnership with the Presiential CNG initiative, AAZARAT Energy to Set up A CNG Station and Conversion Centre in the State.
Dr. Asemakaha who allocated the company’s filling station located beside the corporate headquarters for the project, assured that the company will continue to bring innovations that would transform the state’s economy.
