Primary Healthcare: FCTA moves to settle contractors’ liabilities

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has disclosed conclusion of every arrangement to settle outstanding liabilities to all contractors handling various Primary Healthcare service projects in the Territory.
This assurance was given by the Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Barr. Amanda Pam during a crucial meeting with contractors handling projects in the FCT Primary Healthcare Centres, in her office.
Pam stated that the purpose of the meeting was to appeal to the conscience of all those that abandoned their sites to return to work as every step is being taken to settle all outstanding debt after verification of claims.
She emphasized that due process would be thoroughly followed in arriving at those qualified for payments.
The Secretary however praised the contractors for keeping faith with the FCT Administration, under the Minister Muhammad Musa Bello, and assured the residents of the Territory, the Administration’s commitment towards better health care services delivery in the Territory.
Also speaking, the newly appointed Director of Administration and Finance Alhaji Surajo Ado Faskari said that the Health Secretariat is lucky to have as it’s head an experience lawyer, teacher and a politician who understand the philosophy behind the change mantra of President Buhari’s Administration.
He commended the HHSS boss for using her wealth of experience in piloting the affairs of the secretariat with probity, accountability and transparency.
Responding on behalf of the contractors, Arc. C. Ekeh, whose company is handling one of the PHCs projects commended the Secretary for being pragmatic in her approach to the plight of contractors.
He therefore assured that all contractors handling PHCs projects will meet their contractual responsibilities for the betterment of the Administration and above all the communities where such projects are located.
