The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu kefas on Tuesday tasked Corps members posted to serve in Taraba State to engage themselves in activities that would promote national unity and integration of the State and Nigeria at large.
Kefas gave the advice during the closing ceremony of the 2024 batch ‘B’ stream 1 orientation course at Sibere permanent orientation camp in Ardo-kola local government area of the State.
He noted that, NYSC scheme has played a pivotal role in the development of the critical sectors of the nation’s economy and that of Taraba state in particular.
Represented by the State deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Alkali, Kefas explained that the areas where the scheme has helped in no small measures includes education, health, agriculture, engineering, tourism and arts sectors among others.
“As you begin your primary assignment programme today, I urge you all to engage yourself in things that will nurture as well as promote National unity and the corporate existence of our great country. I expect that you will spread this message of hope to the people you will meet in your respective communities and areas where you will be posted for your primary assignment in the state.
“Let me restate my administration commitment to the promotion of corps welfare and security in the state.We will always support the scheme to realize its objectives, goals and aspirations. On this note, I urge you all to reciprocate this gesture by carrying out your duties and services judiciously and optimally,” he said.
