Taraba state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas on Wednesday disclosed that, he will roll out his administration’s palliative measures to alleviate the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
Dr. Agbu disclosed this while addressing the organize union in the state who joined the nationwide labour protest.
According to the governor, he has already instructed the secretary to the State Government (SSG), to invite both labour leaders, marketers, the road transport workers and school head teachers for a round table meeting to strategize on how the palliative idea would impact on the poor masses.
He also appealed to labour union to be patient and ask relevant questions on how the plan palliative would impact on the poor masses.
“I wish to appeal to Nigerians to be patient about the fuel subsidy removal and ask relevant questions about how the plan palliative would impact positively on the lives of the poor masses.
“I wish to disclosed here that, my palliative strategies would be rollout next week to alleviate the effect of fuel subsidy removal for Tarabans.
“I have already instructed the SGS to invite both labour leaders, marketers, road transport workers and school head teachers for a round table meeting to strategize on how the palliative idea would impact on the poor masses.
“We are aware of the untold hardship inflicted on the citizens by the waves of fuel subsidy removal and we are going to intervene in no distance time and restore hope of better days ahead for the citizens”. Gov. Kefas disclosed.
Earlier, Comr. Peter Jidiel the State NLC chairman explained that their action was in compliance to the NLC national headquarters directives for a nationwide protest against the hardship imposed on Nigerians by the fuel subsidy removal and other workers demands to alleviate the effect of the hardship.
