Put an end to ceaseless deaths in Nigeria, GPMI tells Tinubu

… Calls for support for Nigerian Military

A group, Global Peace Movement International, UK, has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take urgent and decisive steps to end the killings across the country.

The organisation stated this on Tuesday in a statement by its President General, Dr. Mike Uyi. The statement was in response to the recent killings in Kaduna and other parts of the country.

According to the statement, Uyi urged Nigerians not to despair, saying he believes that President Tinubu’s administration is determined to defeat and crush criminals who take advantage of innocent Nigerians.

Uyi also threatened that enough is enough and that Nigerians would not tolerate this large scale killing of innocent people by the bandits, adding that these attacks should be met with decisive force to free Nigerians from these evil people.

While describing the latest attack as one too many he said GPMI sympathies with the families of the victims in recent Kaduna and other parts of Nigeria, we call on the people to show more vigilance by reporting the activities of criminal elements in their midst.

GPMI also uses the medium to thank the Nigerian Military for their galant victories in the fight against insurgency and other criminal elements in the country.

The statement expresses confidence in the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, he said with support from citizens, the military would record more success in the various theatre of operations.

“We urge Nigerians to continue to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the indefatigable Chief of Defence Staff, Maj-Gen. Christopher Musa. He has a history of success and good relationships with troops as a field officer.

Uyi particularly acknowledging the Nigerian Military’s efforts in fighting insecurity GPMI believes more can still be achieved with the support of Nigerians.

“We wish to state that the invaluable efforts of our our Armed Forces have been outstanding given the enormity of the task at hand. We salute their bravery and commitment to addressing these security concerns.

“It must be stated that ending acts of terrorism and banditry does not rest on the shoulders of the security agencies alone, but rather every stakeholder in Nigeria has a role to play in ensuring that Nigeria defeats terrorism, banditry and other acts of criminalities in the country.
“With the support of the citizens, much can be achieved”, Uyi added.
