A fresh video of the female passenger involved in last Sunday’s altercation at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, has triggered heated debates online after it showed her being forcefully removed from an aircraft, during which her breast became exposed.
The footage, recorded by an onlooker, captured the passenger resisting security officers as they tried to escort her out. In the process, her top was pulled down, partially stripping her in front of crew members, officials, and other passengers. The clip, which has since gone viral, has drawn criticism over both the handling of the situation and the decision to post it online without censoring the nudity.
Many social media users condemned the exposure as humiliating and unnecessary. One user wrote, “The person that recorded this video knew she was stripped half naked and still posted it online anyway. That’s absolutely unfair. They won’t try it with a rich or popular person.” Another argued, “Even though the lady was at fault, if this happened abroad, that video alone would cost the company a huge payout.”
Some blamed the officials directly, saying, “The person that pulled her clothes also had intention of stripping her.” Others urged legal action: “She should be able to sue the hell out of them,” while another added, “Them suppose arrest the person wey post this video.”
However, several comments took a harder stance against the passenger’s behavior. One said, “If she wants to behave like an animal, then she deserves to be treated like an animal.” Another noted, “Because you’re poor does not mean you should act like a fool. We all saw when they were talking to her respectfully. If she didn’t misbehave, this wouldn’t happen.”
There were also calls for better handling from security. “A simple call to the airport police to use handcuffs would have settled this without exposing her,” a user said. Another added, “Next time, blur that area. This is a two-tiered system at play.”
Some mixed both sympathy and criticism: “The lady was wrong, but exposing her body is so humiliating… I wish she can sue them,” wrote one, while another said, “One thing you cannot control is other people’s actions, that’s why you have to use your sense and not put yourself in embarrassing situations like this.”
The viral nature of the clip also drew attention. “People don bookmark tire,” one remarked, while others mocked the situation with crude comments about her appearance. Some questioned motives: “Nah woman record am,” “Abeg na content be this?” and “Why did she stoop so low to act that way? Now everybody don see her booby.”
The incident traces back to a confrontation on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo, where the passenger allegedly assaulted a flight attendant and refused to comply with crew instructions. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority later urged travellers to follow routine safety directives to avoid similar conflicts.
This latest uproar comes just days after the widely publicized clash involving Fuji musician KWAM 1 and ValueJet staff at Abuja Airport — further fuelling discussions about passenger behavior, security conduct, and viral shaming at Nigerian airports.
