QuickMed, a subsidiary of Adaln Technologies, conducted a free medical outreach in the Gurku community of Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Speaking at the event, Dr.Salefu Ngbede Odaudu, Founder and CEO of QuickMed, emphasized the company’s commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of underserved communities.

The event aimed to raise awareness about malaria prevention and provide essential healthcare services to the community.

“Our outreach is in response to the demand and needs of the people.

“We see the need to collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and philanthropists to improve healthcare at the grassroots level.”

Dr. Ernest highlighted that the outreach goes beyond just providing medication. “We wanted to create a platform to understand the community’s medical conditions, provide advice on best practices, and sensitize them on how to manage their health better.

” Not every issue requires drugs—some conditions are nutrition-related, and people need to be educated on maintaining a clean environment to reduce the spread of malaria.”

The initiative is also about bridging the gap between urban and rural areas. “We want the community to know that, despite being in a remote environment, they are not forgotten. People in urban areas care about them and will always be on the lookout for them,” Dr. Ernest added.

When asked why Gurku community was chosen, Dr. Ernest explained that QuickMed selected Gurku as a gesture of appreciation for the community’s support.

“We feel the need to give back to our grassroots communities, especially since they have provided an enabling environment for us.

“QuickMed’s mission is to improve healthcare in rural areas and empower individuals with the knowledge to manage their health effectively, contributing to the broader fight against malaria and other preventable diseases”.
