Radda holds emergency security meeting over bandits attacks

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, is chairing an emergency Security Council meeting at the Government House, Katsina following renewed bandits attacks in parts of the state.

The meeting is being attended by chairmen of affected local government areas, and representatives of the Nigerian Army, Defence Headquarters, and the Department of State Services (DSS).

Others are the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Federal Fire Service, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the state security watch corps.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, along with prominent traditional rulers and religious leaders, and other top government officials are also part of the meeting.

Bandits this week launched attacks on communities in Faskari, Sabuwa, Danja, Kankara, Malumfashi and Matazu local government areas, leaving scores dead and abducting several residents.
