Following a forecast by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) that anticipates isolated thunderstorms and sunny skies over parts of FCT and the North Central states of Kogi, Benue, and Niger during the afternoon and evening hours, the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD),  has appealed to residents to heed to the early warning and take necessary precautions.

Making this appeal, Ag Director General of FEMD, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed, urged residents residing along to water channel to relocate before the onset of the rains.

Abdulrahman, in a statement from FEMD’s Head, Public Affairs,  Nkechi Isa, also called for the clearing of blocked drains and water  to ensure free flow of water.

According to the statement, NIMET has cautioned that the onset of rainfall is usually characterized with violent and destructive winds.
