Ansar-ud-deen Society Kaduna Branch has supported five widows who are members of the society with N400,000 as welfare to enable them to provide food for their family during the Ramadan fasting.

The financial support for the less privileged, is part of the Branch’s annual Ramadan Welfare Programme, given during the annual Ramadan Lecture, as the five widows drawn from each of the five Divisions benefit from N80,000 to support their trade and provide food for their family during the Ramadan fasting.

The beneficiaries include Ameera Ahmad Division 1, Hajia Salamatu Adesina Division 2, Hajia Muhibat AbdulRasheed Division 3, Hajia Zainab Isiak Division 4, and Hajia Sherifat AbdulSalam Kaduna South Division.

The bulk of the support came from the Branch, while other privileged members who didn’t want their names mentioned contributed to making the money worthwhile.

The lecturer, Alhaji Adam Ballo, while delivering the Ramadan Lecture titled “Who is a Successful Muslim?” said Islam is truthful, fair, just, and not contradictory.

He added that instead of dwelling on worldly things, it’s better to seek the hereafter (Aljannat) because a Muslim who is deemed to be successful is blessed on earth and benefits from paradise.

“Two criteria of being referred to as a successful Muslim are having the fears of Allah and following His directives by doing good deeds and avoiding prohibited acts such as lying, backbiting, and hypocrisy. When you fear Allah, He will open ways for you, make you happy, and protect you from sadness.

“There are seven deadly sins that any Muslim who wants to be successful needs to avoid. These include worshiping another being apart from Allah, believing in magic, committing murder, collecting interest (usury) on loans, taking over orphans’ possessions, running away from Islamic war (cause), and testifying wrongly or saying untrue things about a person without evidence.”

Chairman, Ansar-ud-deen Society Kaduna Branch, Alhaji Saburideen Ishola Adeyemi, in his remarks, tasked members of the Society and Muslims generally to imbibe the fear of Allah and be just and fair in whatever they are doing. He said that is the only way to live true to the teachings of Allah and the acts of the Prophet.
