Rape is the second pandemic bedeviling Nigeria, says Kaduna FRCN boss

Kaduna Zonal Director of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, (FRCN), Auwalu Buhari,has said rape is the second pandemic bedeviling Nigeria today.
He made the assertion when he received the leadership of Federation of Muslims Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Kaduna state Chapter in his office Sunday.
He expressed dismay that when the Country is battling the Coronavirus pendemic , raping is becoming rampart.
Auwalu Buhari promised that his organization will partnered with FOMWAN to enlighten the public on the ways to curbed the urgly trend.
In her response the State Amira of the Association, Pharm Aisha Ishaku Tuku rcondemned spate of rape and murder in the country in recent time, saying it is time to put an end to the menace.
According to her, the group was in FRCH to seek collaboration in fighting the evil bedeviling the society.
She said the rapists today don’t spare anybody because the elderly, youth and infants are not spared, adding that indecent dressing is no longer the causes because ladies who dressed decently are also prone to the menace.
Pharm. Tukur said the Qu’ran enjoins men to protect their wives and women in the society; surprisingly the same men have become threats to the women they ought to protect.
She added that some of the rapists are working free in the streets, therefore called on the law enforcement agencies to ensure that rapists are prosecuted and sentenced.
Similarly the Group was also visited the District Head of Tudun Wada Mallam Tahir Mahmoud for the Royal Father support in checking the escalating rape Case in the country.
Pharm. Tukur said the Royal Father support is very much needed to check the rape manace.
In his response, the District Head, expressed dismay over the development.
He advised FOMWAN to organized sensitization meeting for traditional, religious leaders and youth to enlighten them on dangers of rape.
He assured the group that he will use his good office to ensure that rapists are handed over to appropriate authority for prosecutions.
