Regina Daniels marks 25th birthday in wheelchair, reveals months of pain

Date:

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she has been battling severe pain and difficulty moving around for several months, as she marked her 25th birthday in a wheelchair.

The actress disclosed her health struggles in a birthday video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday, explaining that what began as a minor health issue had worsened over time.

In the video, Daniels was seen sitting in a wheelchair while holding her birthday cake.

“Hi everyone. It’s my Silver Jubilee. This new phase of my life, I pray to God for total calm. Happy birthday to me,” she said.

The actress said her condition had restricted her freedom to move around and had subjected her to repeated medical tests.

“For several months now, I lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she said.

Daniels added that her condition took a turn for the worse after the Children’s Day carnival she hosted.

“But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my Children’s Day carnival. It’s been one test after another that I jokingly started calling myself a lab rat,” she said.

Describing the severity of the pain, the actress said her ability to walk had become unpredictable, with some periods allowing her to move normally and others leaving her unable to move.

“The pain became, how can I explain this? The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I find myself walking well, and sometimes I just can’t move,” she said.

She also disclosed that the experience had taken an emotional toll on her, adding that she had cried and continued to pray for healing.

“I cried. I looked on to God for His divine healing, as He alone has the final say on my life,” she said.

Daniels said she decided to share the video to address questions from followers about her prolonged absence from social media and update those who had expressed concern about her wellbeing.

Although she spoke about the pain and mobility challenges she had experienced, the actress did not disclose a specific diagnosis in the video.
