Fourteen years ago, Daniel Kings Adegahi, now widely known as MrDaniKing, was struggling to get a single like on social media.

Today, the 31-year-old content creator commands millions of views — and the attention of brands and industry players.

His story is one of grit.

From hopping between YouTube and Facebook in search of traction, to almost giving up over poor engagement, MrDaniKing refused to disappear into the noise of the digital crowd.

“He put a lot of time and effort into his social media growth. With time it was getting better and better. He fed off that,” a close associate said.

In 2023, his breakthrough finally came.

His bold, sometimes controversial takes on gadgets and brands began to resonate with online audiences. While some fans accuse him of criticising brands too harshly, others describe him as refreshingly honest.

He does not mince words.

That blunt style has earned him millions of views and thousands of loyal followers across platforms, particularly Instagram, where he first crossed the 10,000 mark with gadget commentary videos.

Born on July 7, 1995, to a Yoruba father and raised in Kaduna, MrDaniKing’s northern upbringing shaped his distinct voice in Nigeria’s crowded influencer space.

He attended Benue State University after secondary school, combining academics with content creation — a move that would later define his career path.

“A lot of people wonder why anyone would want to be an influencer,” he once remarked. “Because there’s money.”

His virality soon caught the attention of notable media personalities including Izziboye, Kagan Tech, Brandulux and Ajibola Godwin.

Brands followed.

He has since worked with companies such as Bybit, Itel, Infinix and Oraimo.

From near obscurity to breakout star, MrDaniKing’s rise underscores a shifting media landscape — where persistence, personality and provocation can turn a once-ignored voice into a digital force.
