The House of Representatives Committee on Defence, led by Honourable Babajimi Benson, has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their remarkable achievements in recent operations across the country.
The committee equally praised the military’s bravery, professionalism, and commitment to safeguarding the nation.
The Armed Forces had recently recorded significant successes against insurgents, bandits, and other criminal elements, including the neutralization of terrorists and the rescue of hostages in the Lake Chad Region.
They have also intensified efforts against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Abia State.
Additionally, the Nigerian Navy discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site in Bayelsa State, while the Nigerian Air Force carried out airstrikes in Katsina State, eliminating over 80 terrorists.
Hon. Benson in a statement he made available to Newsmen in Abuja, assured the Armed Forces of the House of Representatives’ unwavering support, promising to provide necessary resources and legislative backing to enhance their operational capabilities. He called on all Nigerians to support and appreciate the Armed Forces, acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions to national security.
He emphasized that these achievements are a testament to the resilience and sacrifice of the men and women in uniform, who tirelessly work to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.
