Tanker drivers block Kaduna expressway to protest assault on colleague by soldiers

Residents of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have bemoaned the worsening condition of a dilapidated linking a major market with other adjourning communities in the area.

The residents, who complained that the road has been causing a lot of hardships on people in the area, however accused government of being not interested in addressing the problem.

A cross section of residents, who spoke to Peoples Daily, descried the condition of the as critical, which calls for the government to expedite action towards the rehabilitation of the road, , to ameliorate the plight of people in the area.

A resident, Mr. Samuel John, said that on daily basis, commuters and other residents go through a lot of hardships, while passing through the bad road linking the Gwagwalada central market and other communities around the area.

He specifically called on the council leadership to ensure it fixed the deplorable major link road, to enable the traders have easy access to the market.

Similarly, one Mr. Salihu Ahmadu, who said the road, was long overdue for repairs, lambasted the leadership of council for over time failing to give priority attention to road infrastructure in the area.

Ahmadu however appealed to the chairman of the council to ensure it focuse on developing the area and its environs before the expiration of his tenure in office.
