The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has warned contractors who have been awarded with the construction and rehabilitation of over 600 classrooms, schools and ICT centers across the state to ensure execution of qualitative and specifications of job.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Ibrahim Musa Maizare, the State Executive Chairman of the Board, Abubakar Aliyu Maradun gave the warning yesterday at a closed-door meeting with the contractors and technical team of the board at the State Teacher Training Centre Gusau, the state capital.
Abubakar Maradun informed the meeting of the current administration’s readiness to ensure timely release of funds to all contractors, thereby enjoining them to be proactive in executing quality projects that can stand the test of all times.
He specifically warned them to respect contractual agreement as earlier signed by the board.
The chairman also called on the traditional and religious leaders to also be very vigilance on the projects and report any act of wrong doing by the contractors to the board for necessary action.
In his remarks, the state PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha who was represented by the Party Organizing Secretary, Hamisu Kasuwar Daji, called on the contractors to justify the confidence reposed on them by the state government in executing the contracts according to specifications, adding that they were selected out of multitude other qualified people.
