Respite for policemen as FG moves to pay arrears of their allowances

Respite came for officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force yesterday as the Minister of Police Affairs, Dr Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi revealed that arrears of their new salary package are set to be paid.

 

The Minister made the revelation in his presentation at the 15th edition of the President Muhammadu Buhari Scorecard Series 2015 to 2023 which was held in Abuja on Thursday.

 

He said although salaries of officers have been ongoing, but that arrears for the new pay package has accumulated for about six months.

 

He noted that the pay package of policemen was increased to introduce some allowances, adding that it is the increased allowances that have been outstanding for six months.

“What we are now trying to do is to pay the outstanding arrears to the police officers concerned,” the Minister said.

 

“I want to assure you that we are working to pay those arrears as soon as possible,” he added.
