Former Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Sir Christian C. Ohaa was among the 14 persons from diverse professions that got inducted as new members of the Rotary Club of Abuja Midtown, to help create hope in the world, and in particular make impact in FCT communities.
The inductees cutting across the financial sector, consultants, medical doctors, top civil servants, entrepreneurs, and other people working in different fields of human endeavours, were officially inducted at a brief induction ceremony held at the weekend in Abuja.
President, Rotary Club of Abuja Midtown, Rotarian Dr. Brenda Max-Nduaguibe, noted that the induction embodies the spirit of Rotary as an organisation for professionals and business persons to come together, network, build social contacts and do charity -giving back to the society.
Max-Nduaguibe, said with the new inductees, the membership strength of the Rotary Club of Abuja, Midtown has come to 21, which will expand before the end of this Rotary year
According to her, the theme for this Rotary’s calendar is Create Hope in the World, and Rotary has seven areas of endeavour by which we do service projects to the communities, and the new members who joined with their expertise, will contribute towards attaining the club’s core objective.
“The induction embodies the spirit of Rotary. We have so many projects in child care and maternal health, we have projects in disease prevention, and we have projects in water, sanitation and health.
“All these areas, we have people who work in different places, who come with their expertise and experience to help in designing projects that make impacts on the society and our community in particular.
“Every Rotary year, starts from June 1 to June 30th full calendar circle, and before we hit Jun 30th, 2024, our membership strength will be moving to 40. Rotary is a place for everybody to come and join us create hope in the world, and make impact in our communities”, she stressed.
