Rotary Club renovates classrooms in Tunga Maje school

As part of activities marking 30 years of Rotary Club existence in Abuja, District 9125 of the club, over the weekend commissioned a block of two classrooms, donated 100 chairs and desks as well as other learning materials to L.E.A Primary School, Tunga-Maje community, in the FCT.

The effort tagged “Adopt-A- School”, is an intervention programme of the club to help mitigate the challenges of public primary schools.

Speaking at the event, President of the club, Mr. Yemi Adekoya said, the gesture was in fulfillment of the aim of the club to contribute to societal wellbeing.

According to him, the club learnt of the challenge of the school when it watched a programme on AIT where the pupils were seated on the floor and resolved to help in that direction.

Responding, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Christiana Ogwanyi expressed happiness over the gesture saying it would make teaching and learning very effective and also put a smile on the faces of the pupils.

She thanked the club for its commitment towards providing a better life for children and urged other well-meaning bodies to emulate the club.

Similarly, the representative of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Rev. Julius Oluwatunde expressed delight over the renovation of the classes.
