Rotational governorship: We don’t feel sidelined by Gaidam- Yobe north

Date:

From Uche Uche, Damaturu

Since the choice of Mai Mala Buni, made by Yobe state governor, Alh. Ibrahim Gaidam, to be his successor, some opponents in APC in the state, with personal interest at hearth, has tried to bring in the issue of marginalization in what ought to be a rotational governance system within the three zones, A,B and C that makes of the senatorial districts of the state.
One of such is Alhaji Saleh Jauro, member of Alhaji Ibrahim Bomoi Campaign Organization, who, while fielding questions from journalist after a campaign rally in Damaturu, the state capital, stated that what Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has done in his choice, did not show justice and fair play to others in zone B and zone C.
However, stakeholders who were from the zones that had seemed to be marginalized, has made statements that, now supposed to put such reasoning to rest as they hinge their arguments on producing or having someone as governor, who would show interest in the development of the state, thus improving the standard of living of the people, no matter where he comes from within the zones.
Among those who supported the decision made by Governor Gaidam is Alhaji Sani El-Katazu, former national secretary of ANPP, a party elder in APC who is from C in Yobe state.
He made his view and that of other stakeholders in the zone know in an interview with journalist yesterday after the occasion of solidary rally in Gashua, Bade local government area of Yobe state to show support for the aspirations of Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam and his choice candidates to represent Yobe constituencies at the national assembly and others, at state levels.
