Speaking on the subject “The Role of Religious Leaders in Promoting Security and Justice,” the Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Madani, emphasised that religious leaders play a critical role in promoting security and justice in Nigeria.

Sheikh Madami emphasised that religious leaders are uniquely positioned to influence their followers and communities toward promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding.

According to Sheikh Madami, Nigeria is a country with a diverse population and a complex security landscape, and religious leaders have a responsibility to use their platforms to promote messages of peace, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

He noted that religious leaders can play a crucial role in addressing the root causes of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, and marginalisation, by advocating for policies and programs that promote social justice and economic development.

Sheikh Madami also emphasised the importance of promoting justice and fairness in Nigerian society, saying that religious leaders should speak out against injustice and advocate for the rights of the marginalised and vulnerable. He noted that religious leaders can play a crucial role in promoting accountability and transparency in governance, and in encouraging their followers to demand accountability from their leaders.
