Salah lifts CAF Football Award

All things being equal, in-form Liverpool striker and Egypt international, Mohamed Salah may be named Africa Footballer of the Year Award for the first time in Accra, Ghana yesterday.
Salah who has been in terrific goal scoring form for the Reds in the Premier League, having scored 17 goals in the league since joining them at the summer, will compete for the award alongside Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The former Chelsea winger has taking the Premier League by storm with his speed, brilliant skills and sublime finish that has left football pundits spell bound.
He also had a hand in all seven of the goals that took the Pharaohs to their first World Cup since 1990 – assisting two and scoring five, including the stoppage-time penalty against Congo that qualified them for Russia.
In December 2017, he was voted BBC African Footballer of the Year for 2017 and was named Arab Player of the Year for 2017 on Monday in a poll of around 100 sports journalists from several Arab countries.
