Salary: Benue Civil Servants in jubilant mood

Civil Servants in Benue state are in jubilant mood following the fulfilment of the new Governor Hyacinth Alia to pay their May salaries.
Recalled that Governor Alia had during the celebration of Democracy Day on June 12th, 2023 promised to pay salary on 25th of the month.
It was learnt that on Sunday night 25th June,2023, civil servants starting getting alert for payment of May salary.
A cross section of the civil servants who made their feelings known in an interview with Peoples Daily said that their joy knew no bounds as the governor kept his promise despite the fact that it was on a Sunday.
Mr. Simon Azembe, a staff of Local Service Commission lauded the governor for keeping to his words regarding payment of salaries.
“To me, I will be referring or calling my governor as “Talk and Do”. He is a great man. I hold him in high esteem.
“My governor is someone that matches words with actions. Luck has shone on Benue now, the state will begin to shine brighter soon.
“I pray God to continue to be with him so as to keep putting smiles on the faces of the civil servants in particular and Benue people in general,” Azembe said.
Also, Mr Bernard Vingiryo, a staff of Local Government Service Commission said that the state would be better in a few months time, stressing that the socio-economic activities would now thrive better.
Vingiryo expressed happiness that civil servants in the state would begin to pick the broken pieces of their lives with Alia on the saddle as governor.
“We thank God for bringing him at this time that the lives of civil servants and their morale were at the lowest ebb .
“He has given us enough hope that life will be better for Benue people,” Vingiryo said.
