Sambo commends Kebbi gov on infrastructural devt

The Vice President, Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo, has commended the Kebbi state governor, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari, for his strides in infrastructural development in the state.

Sambo, who commended all the governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the country for their sterling performances at the reconciliation meeting on the fallout of the PDP Kebbi State Gubernatorial primaries in Birnin Kebbi, specifically mentioned the construction of quality roads and bridges, the rise in school enrollment and his provision of excellent medical facilities.

According to a statement made available to newsmen by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity, Umar Sanni, the Vice President expressed delight that such facilities could only be found in PDP controlled States. Such states he mentioned included Bauchi, Jigawa, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Katsina and Taraba states.

Commending the state for being the leading rice producer in the country, he eulogized the farmers for their high yield, stressing that this yield would be further increased with the launch of the Great Green Wall Programme to combat desertification in the State, which was launched sometime ago by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Kebbi State, further adding that the Federal Government had approved the establishment of a big rice mill in the state, to effectively harnesses the high production.

The Vice President also said that in view of the rise in school enrollment in the state, government established a university to cater for the educational needs of the people.

Sambo used the opportunity to enjoin the people to shun all divisive campaigns that tend to polarize the people along ethnic, religious or sectional lines.

He called for total unity of the party and support for the candidature of Gen Bello Sarkin Yaki, the PDP governorship candidate in the state, so that the party will triumph at the forthcoming general elections . He stated that all the gubernatorial aspirants have agreed to team up and work assiduously towards the success of the party.

Other speakers at the occasion included the state governor who reiterated his commitment to the success of the party at all levels and Dr Bello Halliru Mohammed, who denounced sentiments being employed by the opposition to canvass for votes. This came as Yaki promised to run an all inclusive government when elected the governor.
