Sanitation: Union tasks FCTA on cleanliness in councils

The chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), of Educational and Associated Institute, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Comrade Makolo Hassan, has called on the FCT Administration to always gear towards the cleanliness of environment across the six area councils.

Hassan, who made the call while speaking during a group meeting of NASU, in Gwagwalada, also urged the FCT Administration to give priority attention to the prompt evacuation of refuse across the entire FCT.

He frowned at the spate of dilapidated roads in the FCT, calling on the administration to repair them especially those in the area councils.

While condemning the recent double bomb blasts at Nyanya, he however urged to the FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, to place greater emphasis on the security of the residents, irrespective of where they are in the Territory.

Earlier, the Deputy President of NASU, comrade Alfred Sunday Adefemi, called on the government to provide jobs for the youths to reduce anti-social vices in the society.

He advised the politicians to shun politics of bitterness, so as to move the country to higher heights.

Adefemi, however, hailed the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof James Adelabu, for demonstrating concern for the welfare of the Union.

On his part, the chairman of NASU, University of Abuja branch, Bando James, begged the government as well as Vice-Chancellor of the university, to come to the aid of the union by providing some of their basic needs in the school.
