The member representing Edu, Moro and Patigi Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has reiterated that the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, remains his leader.
In a press statement issued by his Media Office on Thursday, Honourable Pategi also stated that he is officially a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasizing that the reasons he left the All Progressives Congress (APC), have been clearly enumerated in his earlier public appearances.
“Saraki is my Leader at the state level and at the national level and he will always be my leader,” Pategi said, “Additionally, I am a very cultured man and will never talk loosely, hence, I could not have denied knowledge of my defection to the PDP at the floor of the House of Representatives — where I am both a respected and ranking member.
“All the individuals who are trying to sew discord through mischievous headlines, unsolicited articles and baseless rumors should know that Saraki bought my first nomination for me, he also bought my second, and even my last one,” he said.
Pategi further emphasized that the only interview he granted in his hometown was about the just-concluded Eid-el-Kabir festivities and there was no conversation or interview about him not leaving the APC.
“In this regard, I urge the public to be cautioned against fake news merchants. I am officially a PDP member and the reason why we left the APC are clearly spelt out. Those situations have not changed, and clearly, they won’t change. Therefore, there is no going back on my defection. It is totally impossible and unaccepted there was any such news in the first place.”
