A former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State to shun overtures from the new African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Addressing the PDP members from the Kwara North and South senatorial districts at a critical stakeholders meeting in Ilorin on Tuesday, Saraki urged them to remain steadfast and loyal to the PDP.

On the essence of the meeting, Saraki described himself as an errand boy on errand but called back home to render stewardship.

According to him, the meeting was to update the politicians on the progress so far made by the party’s reconcilatory committee, which he headed; progress on the voters’ registration and revalidation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as well as his efforts at lifting the party to its present height.

Saraki said, “I am here as a Democrat asked by his members to come and discuss happenings on the National platform.”

Listing his other reasons for the stakeholders’ meeting, Saraki informed that INEC’s portal would open for both revalidation and registration of new voters.

He told the congregation that the essence of the exercise was the only tool to win back the state in 2027, adding, “I am also home to appreciate your steadfastness and loyalty.”

The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, also confirmed to newsmen that his leader was in the state to interface with the PDP family on the PDP scheduled National Congress in Oyo State.

Speaking earlier, the PDP Chairman in Kwara, Alhaji Babatunde Muhammed, urged the members to ensure full participation in the electoral process.

He stated that the party remains intact and indivisible, despite the expectations of many to join the new coalition.

“PDP is intact in Kwara State, we don’t have any problems across the 193 wards,” he said while listing the price tags on all nomination forms for prospective contestants.
