The National President Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Rev. Daniel Okoh on Wednesday urged Nigerian to resist all forms of violence capable of causing the breach of the country’s peace and unity.
He also urged eligible voters to make sure they locate their PVC and on that day boldly, go to the polling station and make sure that they vote for a candidate that their conscience tells them has the capacity. competence, and character to lead this country out of the woods.
Mr. President made the call in a podcast video shared with journalists in Abuja, that we must do everything to make sure that this particular election is peaceful and we must resist every attempt to fight or to be engaged in any form of violence.
According to him, whether you are a youth or an adult, you need to go out and make sure that the language you speak on that day would be a language of peace.
We have prayed. We have worked hard and we’ve tried to raise the awareness of Christians, non-Christians and every member of the Nigerian community to be actively involved in the political process of this country.
“The time that we all have been waiting for to turn around the fortunes of this country has come and we have never had it so good, this is a golden opportunity that we have to turn around the fortunes of this country by simply actively voting on the days of a general election in Nigeria, beginning with the one of the February 25.
“I want to believe that your vote counts and do not think that your vote does not count”.
He also warned some religious leaders who appeared to be too religious that they would there be a vision of Prophecy that kind of danger await them, and they will not go out of their houses.
He said, “Now let me tell you that the Lord knows that on that day, we must go out to vote and not listen to any words that will discourage you from going out.”
Speaking further, he said”you have to vote because it is an opportunity that you may not have again in your lifetime and I also want to urge each one of us that we have to be peaceful.
” Let us not fall into the trap of the enemies of the progress of this country who would want to truncate this process. It is important that when you vote, you watch over your vote counts,” he conclude.
