The Social Democratic Party has congratulated its 2023 presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, on receiving a Doctor of Political Science degree from Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Acting National Chairman of the party, Dr Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe, described the honour as “well-deserved and inspiring.”

He said the award reflected Adebayo’s broad contributions to Nigeria’s development — as an international lawyer, political figure, public intellectual, media entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist.

The SDP also praised Adebayo for donating a new postgraduate building to Western Delta University.
The facility, named the Macaulay and Margaret Omugbe Postgraduate Block, was dedicated to the memory of his father and mother-in-law.

According to the statement, the party values Adebayo’s “consistent support and contributions” to its growth at both national and sub-national levels.

It reaffirmed its confidence in his vision for a Nigeria anchored on national transformation, economic revitalisation, security, peace and sustainable development.

The party further commended his commitment to poverty eradication and improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians — efforts it said had earned him both national and international recognition.

The SDP family nationwide celebrated the recognition and wished Adebayo greater accomplishments in his service to the country.
