SEB empowers teachers with ICT skills

As part of effort towards enhancing the teaching and learning process, the FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) has commenced intensify of teachers on various Information Communication Technology (ICT) applications.
In particular, secondary school teachers were drilled on computer appreciation, computer trouble shooting, advanced Microsoft excel, and use of Microsoft excel for database creation.
It was gathered that the ICT training anchored by a team of facilitators on networking, web design computer engineering and communication.
Declaring the training open, Head of ICT Board, who represented the Board Chairman, Alh. Jiya Madami, noted that FCT cannot be left behind in the ICT drive.
He insisted that the Board which manages 62 senior secondary schools must live up to expectations in the teaching and learning process.
According to him, ICT remains vital part of advancing teachers’ knowledge in the present day technology drive as every activity was based on it for effectiveness and efficiency.
He urged the teachers to be focused and impact their students and schools through effective application of the topics taught during the course of the training.
He added that follow up mechanisms would be put in place to ensure sustainability and maximization of expected benefits from the training on students.
