Sen Adamu, Agabi emerge winners in Nasarawa

Former governor of Nasarawa State and Senator representing Nasarawa West at the national assembly, Abdullahi Adamu has retained the party’s ticket to contest again in the 2015 general election, having been declared winner of the senatorial primaries under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Adamu won the election with 1650 against General Ahmed Aboki who got 555 votes.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Yusuf Agabi, Durbin Lafia, has been declared winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) guber primaries that held in Nasarawa State.

Declaring the result at the federal Polytechnic Guest House Nasarawa, Chairman of electoral committee, Senator Aldophous  Wabara said out of eight (8) contestants, Alhaji Yusuf Agabi polled 214 votes, while Mr. Labaran Maku got 160, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma 129, Chris Mamman 1.

Others are Chief Michael Abdul got 21, Senator Solomon Ewuga 31, the Deputy Governor,  Luka Dameshi scored 12 and Col. Jibrin Bala got 4 votes respectively.

Addressing journalists shortly after the announcement, Alhaji Yusuf Agabi called on the contestants to join hands with him in order to forge the party and the state ahead.

According to Agabi, “This victory is ours and I promise to carry everyone along if elected as the Governor of the state in 2015”.

Agabi, who further assured that if elected into the Government House Lafia in 2015, his administration will focus on the restoration of peace in the state by bringing an end to the communal crisis that has ravaged Nasarawa State.

 He commended all the ethnic groups in the state for giving him their maximum support and urged them to work as a team in order to for the party (PDP) to actualize her dream by wrestling power from the opposition in the state come 2015.
