Senator Gaya attracts N8bn constituency projects to Kano

A serving Senator representing Kano South Senatorial district, who is also a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, said he attracted constituency projects to Kano State worth N8 Billion within the period of seven years.

Gaya made the disclosure while commissioning a solar borehole constructed as part of his projects, in the Kofar Kudu area of emir’s palace in Kano, yesterday.

“We have spent N8bn on constituency projects across Kano State, including Kano south senatorial district, within the period of seven years. In addition to that, we have established 18 skills acquisition centres in each of the Local Governments in the Kano south zone.”

The former governor also disclosed that in his commitment to provide portable water to the people, he has been able to provide 206 solar boreholes, worth N10.5m each, in different locations across the state, including the emir’s palace.

On education, Mr. Gaya also revealed that “We have provided 3 class rooms in each of the 44 Local Government of the state. But we have provided 6, 12 and 18 in respective Local Governments in the Kano south. We have also provided computer learning centres in two LGs in the Kano south senatorial district, and we have distributed 300 set of computers to schools in the district.”

He continued “we have also provided hospital in each ward in Local governments within my senatorial district. We have also done the same in Kano north and south senatorial districts. We have provided machines for irrigation farming across the state, in order to boost agriculture in our dear state.” He said.

Gaya, also maintained that the main function of legislators centred solely on law making and budget, but deem it fit to follow possible ways to deliver projects in constituencies to better the life of the people.

Meanwhile, in his address, the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sunusi II, expressed delight over the development, while stressing the importance of water to the people.

While commending the Senator for the gesture, the emir also urged leaders to take good care of their subjects, stressing that peace and harmony is the key to development.
