The leadership tussle in the upper chamber of the National Assembly is becoming more complicated. There is currently pressure on the Senator representing Sokoto East senatorial zone, Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir to join the race for the Deputy Senate President.
A political stalwart and zonal coordinator of the All Peoples Congress, APC, Sokoto East, Alhaji Shaaya Musa Gwadabawa has urged the Senator to declare his interest for the office of Deputy Senate president based on his track record of good representation.
The politician who made the call in Sokoto at the constituency office of the lawmaker argued that the senator has all the qualities and qualifications to be the Deputy Senate President particularly looking at his ability to speak on national issues and other vital discussions in the chamber.
Responding to the call, the lawmaker, Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi said leaders were chosen by God and as such he was prepared to wait for Allah’s decision on who to be what at the time he wishes.
He therefore promised to provide good representation throughout his tenure in the Senate.
On the current insecurity facing the country, he prayed for Allah’s intervention towards the end of such calamities and at the same time called for the relevant security agencies to adequately address and sort out solutions to the menace.
