
Senatorial candidate calls for all out war against bandits, terrorists

Alhaji Umaru Ajiya, the Ajiyan Isa and immediate past Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of NNPCL Ltd, has called on security forces in the country to adopt an offensive approach to end banditry and other violent crimes.
Ajiya who addressed newsmen in Sokoto on Saturday, said Nigeria can no longer afford a reactive security posture.
The APC.Sokoto East Senatorial candidate said recent attacks across the country showed the need for a new strategy.
“We must take the war to the criminals in their hideouts. This defensive approach is no longer working. Our security forces need better intelligence, better equipment, and the political will to dominate,” he said.
Ajiya pledged to prioritize security if elected, saying he would push for significant budgetary allocations for the military, police, and other security agencies.
He Isa pledged to track and push for early release of funds appropriated for security.
“My experience as CFO of NNPCL taught me how to track money. Nigerians deserve to know that every kobo voted for security is actually used to protect lives and property,” he stated.
The senatorial candidate linked insecurity to unemployment and poverty, pledging to attract federal projects and jobs to Sokoto to cut off the recruitment pool for criminals.
The former NNPCL Ltd top official extolled Sokoto State Governor’s huge investments in security infrastructure, which have manifested in tangible results.
“He came fully fully prepared for the top job of being the number one citizen of the state, consequently, he is really performing very well, so far, so good, I am happy with this development.”
