Shock as Rufai Oseni says IGP can’t reduce Seyi Tinubu’s security despite Soyinka’s criticism

Date:

Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni, has claimed that the Inspector General of Police lacks the authority to reduce the security details of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, even after Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka criticized the level of protection he receives.
Speaking at a public forum on Tuesday, December 9, Soyinka condemned the “battalion” of security personnel assigned to Seyi Tinubu. The Nobel laureate recounted an incident where he witnessed the overwhelming number of security agents accompanying Seyi, with roads temporarily closed to allow him to pass before other motorists could proceed.

The comments were later discussed on the Arise TV set on Wednesday morning. Rufai Oseni argued that the police have no power to scale down Seyi Tinubu’s security detail.

According to Rufai,
“Them nor born anybody to remove the police protection of Seyi Tinubu.”

When his co-anchor, Reuben Bati, asked, “Not even the Inspector General of Police?” Rufai emphatically responded:
“Them nor born am well. Them nor born am well! You think I am joking! You will see.”
