The Regional Director Skye bank plc, Alhaji Hassan Umar Dangaladima has formerly picked his All Progressives Congress ( APC) membership card, alongside over one thousand supporters, in his Birnin Magaji local government APC area office.
Speaking during the membership card collection ceremony on Saturday, Umar Dangaladima who dropped his opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership said, he was convinced to join APC by the series of achievements recorded by the federal and state governments in his Birnin Magaji local government area.
“I found it necessary to drop my membership with PDP after being satisfied that the ruling APC, under the administrations of President Buhari and Abdulaziz Yari, have touched the areas that were the most backward in terms of economic development in my local government, and even the neighbouring areas.
“I must confess that we have been lacking motorable roads to run commercial activities, especially after harvest of farm products, for over sixty years. Empty promises were made by various administrations
since old Sokoto State, but today, a 63 kilometre road is constructed by the state government.”
He noted that with the construction of the 63 kilometre road which linked Birnin Magaji with Kaura Namoda local government, both commercial and farming activities were eventually improved to the extent that the state government could achieve the federal government policy on economic diversification.
He also commended the federal government’s efforts in taking possible measures through use of security agencies and the military power, under the noble ministry of the son of the soil, Brigadier Mansur Dan Ali (rtd) to end cattle rustling and armed banditry, which claimed many lives and property across communities under Birnin Magaji local government area and beyond.
Earlier, the state APC deputy Chairman in charge of North zone, Alhaji Nasiru Dankulu Kaura described the defection as a great success to the ruling APC, not only in the state but the whole northwest zone of the country, adding that, “The 30-year banking experience of the defected director will earn more popularity to the APC”.
Alhaji Dankulu further called on entire members of the APC in the state and beyond, to give most needed consideration to the defected Dangaladima similar to all bona fide and potential members and esteemed founders of the party, as he has much to contribute towards the development of democracy in the state.
