The current insecurity problem in the nation’s capital and the country at large has been blamed on poor quality of people occupying leadership positions at various levels in the nation.

Speaking during a formal inauguration of Abuja branch of Esu Nlap Oron, in Abuja yesterday, the President -General of the Organization, Asukwo Enweme, alleged that most of those in leadership position in the country know how to go about tackling the insecurity problems but not for lack of political will and determination.

Earlier in his speech before the inauguration of Abuja executive of the group, Enweme warned them against any act that could jeopardize collective interest of the group, threatening to melt out appropriate sanction against any that violate ethics of the group as spelt out in their constitution.

In his address, the President of Esu Nlap Oron in Abuja, Emmanuel Ekpo reiterated his readiness and commitment to ensuring that the interest of Oron-people in Abuja is placed ahead of selfish ambition whether political and economic.

Ekpo further explained that his organization which was formed in 2009 as a platform for ensuring unity of purpose among all sons and daughters of oro nation at home and abroad noting that the group remains the only umbrella youth socio-cultural organization that oversees activities youths to achieving self-determination.

Also present at the occasion was one of the gubernatorial aspirants for the 2015 election in Akwa Ibom state, Chris Abasi Eyo , he spoke extensively about the plight of Oron people at home and abroad as well as his supporters to rise up for his aspiration, pointing that Oron-extraction in the state produces over 90% percent of natural resources selfishly use in the state by successive government.

On his part, the immediate past president of Akwo Ibom State community, in Abuja, Ben Ukpong  in his address commended all for finding time to show up for the event, pledging a donation of one hundered and fifty thousand naira to the Abuja branch of the Esu Nlap Oro.

Highpoint of the event was a formal presentation of certificate of recognition to the group in Abuja by the Worldwide President of the Union.
