Sokoto CP meets Chief Judge, Attorney-General to fast track justice delivery

 The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, has called for synergy among stakeholders in the criminal justice system to fast track justice delivery in the  state.
The police commissioner made the call on Wednesday when he visited the state Chief Judge of Sokoto State, Justice Muhammad Saidu Sifawa, and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Nasir Muhammad Binji.
A statement issued on Thursday in Sokoto by the spokesperson of the command, DSP Ahmad Rufai, said the visit was also aimed at solidifying the existing relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the Judiciary.
During the meetings, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa emphasized that the Police and the Judiciary are indispensable partners in justice administration.
He therefore stressed the need for sustained collaboration to improve the quality of investigations, strengthen prosecution support, and promote quick dispensation of justice.
The Commissioner said the command is commitment to evidence-based investigation, intelligence-led policing, and adherence to the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) in all its operations.
He said that closer collaboration with the Judiciary would enhance the capacity of police personnel in managing emerging crimes and addressing issues that cause delays in prosecution and justice delivery.
In his response, the Chief Judge, Justice Muhammad Saidu Sifawa, welcomed the Commissioner and assured his commitment to working with the Police to facilitate the quick dispensation of justice in the State.
He reiterated the Judiciary’s readiness to support law enforcement agencies in ensuring that criminal cases are handled with utmost efficiency and in accordance with the law.
Similarly, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Nasir Muhammad Binji, reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and strengthening synergy among all stakeholders in the criminal justice system to ensure good governance and the protection of citizens’ rights.
