The Executive Secretary, Sokoto State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA), Dr. Sani Labaran, said yesterday that the state recorded zero polio case in the last two years.

Labaran made this known during interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto.

He said, “The happy story and the successes were recorded due to the relentless efforts of the State and Federal governments and the Sultanate.

“All of them and a myriad of other stakeholders in the ongoing fight against the dreaded disease were committed to the success of the exercise.”

Labaran attributed the development to the continuous successes being recorded in the 23 local government areas of the state. The immunization process has been recording a huge success across the state .This explains the zero-case of the debilitating disease. If this positive tempo is sustained, the state will soon be declared polio-free”, the executive secretary said. NAN
