Governor Dapo Abiodun, the chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, has expressed condolences to Governor Umar Namadi over the demise of his son, Abdulwahab.
Mr Abduwahab was involved in a road crash along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa road on Thursday, just a day after the loss of the governor’s mother, Maryam Namadi.
According to a statement on Friday, Mr Abiodun said the tragic events coming in quick succession could break anyone’s spirit.
He, however, added that the forum takes solace in the life that the deceased lived, urging the bereaved governor to take solace in the fact that his loved ones are in the bosom of Allah.
“I and members of the southern governors forum can hardly find the words to describe the devastating news of the loss of our brother’s son, Abdulwahab, in a road accident.
“This happened just a day after the death of his very dear mother, Maryam Namadi. Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, a young man, full of life, died in a motor accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road on Thursday.
“No doubt, these extremely tragic events, coming in quick succession, and at a period of the yuletide festivities when His Excellency and his loved ones were no doubt looking forward to the New Year with joy and excitement, can break anyone’s spirit. By a cruel twist of fate, Abdulwahab, who was mourning the loss of his dear grandmother, lost his life in a road accident,” the governor stated.
